  37. BTL looks for BTL.CFG in the directory BTL.EXE was found in.
  38. BTL.FNK, and .BRG files are taken from the current directory.

  41. 4. Program description
  42. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  43. Blaster TeLetype modulates and demodulates non-encrypted Baudot
  44. Radio Teletype (RTTY) found on the short wave bands, and provides
  45. a multi featured, user friendly user interface.
  46.  
  47. BTL uses a Sound Blaster compatible sound card and your PC to
  48. demodulate RTTY audio tones from an SSB radio receiver, and
  49. generates audio tones for an SSB radio transmitter. BTL uses the
  50. PC to perform modern DSP processing, giving outstanding demodulation
  51. performance, and to provide clean, sinusoidal, and phase continuous
  52. tones for transmission.

  54. BTL has many features including extensive on-line help. The help
  55. describes all the features available in BTL, and gives additional
  56. information on getting BTL to work on your PC. You can run BTL
  57. with or without a sound card to access this help. Press F1 when
  58. you see the main screen in BTL. If you still have problems or
  59. just want to know a little more about BTL, you can read the
  60. FAQ and Trouble Shooting Guide, FAQ.TXT

  62. BTL is a DOS program and requires a 80386DX based IBM PC compatible
  63. or better to run. To decode or generate RTTY you will also need a
  64. Sound Blaster 1.0 or greater, compatible sound card and of course a
  65. SSB receiver or transceiver. BTL sometimes works in a DOS box under
  66. Windows, however NO ATTEMPT has been made to make BTL work under
  67. Windows, so all credit must be given to Microsoft!

  69. Initial BTL defaults are set to the European standard of USB and
  70. 1275/1445 Hz. It is easy to change these default to the US standard
  71. or and other standard. Refer to the on-line help or FAQ. BTL will save
  72. these new defaults in the config file for the next time you run BTL.
